This app has a great design and i want to take a moment to share a thought. We talk a lot about finding yourself. It’s practically a whole genre of advice. But i've been sitting with this idea lately that maybe you were never lost to begin with. maybe what actually happened is that people kept telling you who you were, and you believed them, and then one day it stopped fitting and you called that a crisis. But it wasnt a crisis, it was just the first time you disagreed. And I think thats actually the most human moment there is. that specific second where something someone says about you lands wrong. not because it hurt but because you knew, somewhere quiet and certain, that it wasnt true. and you had to decide whether to correct them or just let it sit there and slowly become you. Most of us let it sit. because correcting people is uncomfortable and having a self that contradicts what everyone expects is exhausting to maintain. So we shrink. not all at once. just a little here, a little there. until one day we look up and realize we've been living inside a version of ourselves that was built mostly by other peoples comfort I don't think the goal is to find yourself. I think the goal is to just. Stop agreeing so fast. sit with things longer. Let the wrong explanations feel wrong without immediately replacing them with something more convenient. mb you're not lost. you're just still being edited by people who never asked your permission.
